mustache march

well if you know Tanaya you know she has a thing for mustaches and this year for Mustache March she persuaded John and Alan to grow one.  Alan even let her shave his beard into any mustache shape she wanted.  as you can see by her smile - she enjoyed EVERY minute of it!

 

John was diligent & kept his the whole month - not shaving it off until April 1st. now that's love!

21 week ultra sound

as john said when we saw this picture, 'our baby has a head!' :) and its a perfectly cute head.  she/he is growing just perfect and is so loved already.

'man'cation

John went on a super sweet bike trip to Fruita, CO with his buddies Dave & Hollis and they had a blast.  The weather was perfect and the trails and views were amazing!

grandma reggie's 90th birthday!

we went to Chicago to celebrate Grandma Reggie's 90th birthday!  we flew in a few days before the big party so we were able to spend time downtown and with friends.  the whole trip was so much fun and we were lucky enough to be there for St. Patties Day

johns mom grew up in Chicago but this was her 1st time at the parade. thanks John for letting me buy our green attire. John made a big leap for me and sported a very small...but green...wrist band :)

wishing for another 90!

during the party Grandma pointed out a friend of hers across the room to another guest saying she was going to turn 98 in a few weeks. '98?!' the lady said 'i was just speaking to her and she said she was turning 96?'. 'oh, don't believe her' says Grandma 'she always lies about her age'  ha! this moment was priceless. gave me all the power in the world to lie about my age ;)

the whole party was so neat. there was dinner, individualized cupcakes, pictures celebrating her life, speeches, and lots and lots family and friends.  WE LOVE YOU Grandma Reggie!

My dad took us target shooting and it was SO much fun to spend this time with him.  He brought his arsenal of weapons and let us try them all out. Thanks Dad!

18 weeks & baby heart beat!

i'm 18 weeks and finally getting a belly. i'm glad the in between stage of no belly and a prego belly has finally passed - the stage where people think you might be pregnant but are too scared to ask.  i love having a big belly to rub and rest my hands on. and i love not being sick anymore. the first 16 weeks were anything but my favorite, but at 18 weeks i'm nothing but smiles cause i'm lovin what 'normal' feels like. 

this last doctors appointment was pretty special cause tanaya was able to come with us.  during the visit our doctor listed to the baby's heartbeat and i looked over and saw tanaya smile.  then i looked over at john grinning ear to ear recording the miracle of a heartbeat with his phone.  i've listened to this precious beat over and over...and here it is for you.

Hear Baby Heart Beat at 18 weeks

alice in wonderland

tanaya was a stage crew member in her school musical 'alice in wonderland' this year.  she worked long hours to help get everything ready.  there were some last minute stresses as two days before opening night several of the fuses blew, the stage floor collapsed, and the 'queen of hearts' fell threw the floor and twisted her ankle. due to all their hard work however, opening night was a success. she had a blast painting and building the set, helping the cast members out on stage, and her favorite part - working the curtains and microphones.  it was a bit crazy switching the microphones from the different cast members in a matter of seconds but she loved it.

the boys took the kids skiing/boarding to brighton today. it was another beautiful day to be on the mountain.
